I started running in 2014 as a way of trying to lose weight. My first race was a 10k at the end of 2014 and in 2015 I ran two half marathons. I only ran my first marathon in 2016, which was the Cape Town marathon. 10 years later, I have run close to 20 marathons and it looks like I ain’t stopping anytime soon.
The 2024, 128th Boston Marathon will be my first Boston and I am excited about this because I will also become a Six Star finisher and the first from my country Zambia to complete all the 6 World marathon majors!
There are many reasons why I am excited about running. From the amazing community to the pure health benefits it brings. Running gives me a great feeling of satisfaction and happiness and it’s always surprising to see just how far I can go. Ask me this 10 years ago, I would have laughed at you because the word “running” didn’t exist in my vocabulary. 😁 Keep running and chasing after your goals and dreams. You never know just who you are motivating in the process!
