Mark Glover

I began distance running in December 2005. At the time, I weighed 230 pounds, smoked two packs of cigarettes a day, and couldn’t run for more than six minutes.

I ran my first Boston Marathon the year of the Boston Bombing (2013). This will be my fourth time running Boston, having completed three so far.

I love the thrill of achievement and the challenge of pushing my limits. Running reminds me that no matter what obstacles life throws my way, if I can do this, I can overcome anything!

I always say that running a marathon is just like life—keep putting one foot in front of the other, and no matter what, you will reach the finish line.
